Collins steps up to the challenge

With both Jerod Mayo(IR) and Hightower(temporary) out for the game versus the Chargers, second year Linebacker Jamie Collins took the role as leader and playcaller for a Patriots defense that held the Chargers offense to seven points. COllins played a big role in the success of the defense in his best game so far of his career. I’ll break down some of his plays from his game, and show what he did so well.

James Develin – The return of the fullback to New England

James Develin has brought the fullback position back to New England in recent years. In this article I will show some of the ways the Patriots used Develin against the Bengals, and how he opened up holes in the running game and helped the offense move the chains.

 

Patriots VS Bengals – First play of the game

This was an Important game for the Patriots. After a short week which started on monday night against the Kansas City Chiefs where the Patriots had a bad loss which had a lot people questioning the future of BRady and Belichick. The Patriots had not looked like the Patriots of during that point of the season. With an ever shifting OL after the trade of Logan Mankins the team had struggled on offense. They had trouble in both the running and passsing game. This is the first play against the Bengals, and a play that set the tone of a physical game where Stevan Ridley had 27 carries.
